Life Falls Apart
A Psychotherapy Bereavement Group for Parents Coping With A Childs’s Fatal
Fentanyl Poisoning, Accidental Overdose, or Suicide
No matter what the circumstances of a child’s death, parents lives are shattered beyond recognition. A child’s death is traumatic and significantly life-changing. From the moment you received a phone call, knock on your front door, or are confronted with the fatal sight of your child, your once anchored life has capsized. You may experience a violent shock to your body and mind. You may also experience numbness, disbelief, an inability to function, inconsolable pain, and even a sense of hopelessness. In the ensuing days, months, and years, professional and psychological support provides a critical anchor your otherwise felt rudderless existence.
Throughout my years of academic and subjective clinical practice, healing from the death of my son, I know that psychotherapeutic support offers us a meaningful life beyond the traumatic experience of our child’s death.
This group addresses critical signs of resulting Complicated Grief.
